Wow, great shot! We’ve been seeing more of them up here lately, too. Some stay in winter, but their numbers seem to increase as some migrate north during the spring and into the summer. There are large numbers year-round in Prairie du Sac, Wis., along the Wisconsin River (about 45 minutes from the Madison area). Amazing birds–thanks for sharing the beautiful photo!

This was in Seabeck in Washington. I have not yet seen one here, although they live here somewhere.
