People often tell me how much they like how each of these various planter boxes downtown are managed by random people who enjoy gardening and want to share what they enjoy with others. Because each planter is managed by different people and families, they are splendidly unique. Mike’s Bikes is the business that my planter box is in front of, so I ask those who work there before making major changes. Although I can grow just about anything, I know little more than nothing about landscape design. Years ago, someone who worked at Mike’s Bikes mentioned that she liked the bronze foliage of New Zealand flax. I realized that such color might contrast nicely with the pale yellowish green of all those Aeoniums. That is why I added the ‘Australia’ canna. I did not like it at the time, but it has worked out splendidly, and I can share pups with those who like it. This planter box is a good situation in which to try things that I would not try at home.

Yes, but Six on Saturday features only six pictures. I should have replaced the picture of the unidentified Aloe with a picture of the planter.
