      1. Mom was a lover of these and here in NH they are budded up and beginning to open. A neighbor had them covered in dirt still, my mom cared for hers like they were gold so he dumped them in my front yard and it may have been a few days before I grabbed the tractor to pick them all up and I noticed they had new growth starting so maybe what ever kind these are they love Aug-Sept and hopefully early Oct then I will dig them up, trim and probably box them in shavings and pray they will be good to plant next spring. His wife died so in memory of my mom I graciously accepted his gift of 60 or 70 of them. I shared 10 or 12 with a fellow garden club member and friend. She will more than likely leave them to die.

      2. Right I may go dig them up and place them in a town garden where I can watch over them until I am gone. Right now torrential rains are here then two days to dry out then 3 more days of storms. I can not wait to see what sizes and colors the others are the one open is a deep red but the size of a small orange 🙂 so gorgeous though. I will read up on them and do what all those lovers do for theirs I would like to think his wife is happy they didn’t just rot, uncared for.
