It is. It starts to bloom like an amaryllis, but then unfurls with those weird catfish like appendages. I like its whiteness, but can not help but wonder how it would look in pink or even red.
Aren’t the bulbs a bit too expensive to use as annuals? I do not remember how much ours cost (because I did not buy the), but I remember that they were not cheap.
I can’t remember, I think I got the, somewhere like Fred Meyer, not mail order. Plus I was working at the time so probably bought them for clients this wasn’t my money.
Now, that’s a stunner!

Are they fragrant? I have H. latifolia here and they have a wonderful scent..

They are supposedly fragrant, but I only notice it if I smell them directly, like Orange River lily.
